When I was working for Surfblend in 2018, the Dutch band Chef Special embarked on a tour they had started a decade earlier. They traveled along the French and Spanish coasts, visiting various surfcamps to promote their music. When I heard they were doing it again, I immediately came up with the idea of creating a video using footage from back then, mixed with current scenes. Frontman Joshua Nolet’s narration ties it all together, resulting in a fantastic video. Back then, I didn’t have all the gear I needed to make everything super polished, but I believe that’s precisely what gives the video its charm.
