Vincent van Gogh is incredibly famous all around the world. But not many people know that he also stayed in Drenthe. He spent three months there, in the southeastern part of the province. From his time in Drenthe in 1883, we have managed to preserve five paintings, several drawings, and a series of beautiful letters he wrote to his brother Theo. We want to take you to the places that inspired him.
In this journey of photography and film, we will show you the world of the present-day Van Gogh, as he explores the landscape with a camera, drawing inspiration from it. We will also introduce you to the Van Gogh of the past, who wandered through the landscapes with his brush and paints, creating the paintings of Drenthe.
